The point of departure begins with a strategy I of play. documented my neighbors and relatives in Doweir with the intention of questioning notions associated with posing for the camera, and what it means to be viewed and later analyzed by an audience. I interrogate the usual representation done in documentary photography in the Middle East, which most often functions as a plea for sympathy rather than a statement of conditions. The final result takes on a mystical aura torn between comedy and religion.
