This installation revolves around how we position ourselves in a territory, as the sky becomes territory through missions in space and open skies treaties, negotiating its poetic meaning as a space and its geopolitical implications.

The video is made up from skies of over 30 aviation space conquest and war films. I have carefully chosen those scenes in which the sky has a predominant role, usually scenes of jet combats, and introduction to flight, beginnings and endings. I have cut out the elements that were not sky through geometric shapes, keeping the original sound, negotiating different logics for creating a new narrative.

The video projection is silhouetted against the wall creating continuous negative / positive spaces.

It creates an open reading, both narrative and special.

High noon in eternity      |      The air is heavier than a horse
Wekalet nehna      |      From this world to the next one
You are here for a reason      |      The night between Ali and I
A glance and I thought it was a greeting      |      La chose
commence ici      |      Flying fence      |      Preferring the fleeting
happiness on earth      |      Half broken hearted half in love
The connivance of watching Birds      |      You know who I am
Oum in three movements      |      Besides the sea      |      Friction
58 Degrees      |      Anticipation of a disappearance
Inheritance      |      The south is back
